Ladies and Gentlemen,

As longtime F1-fan and social media voice it should be no surprise that I regularly shared thoughts and contents about F1 races and the teams I am interested in. Some of the teams have really understood the value of interaction with the community on social media. Should there be a Championship for social media engagement, McLaren Formula 1 and Red Bull Racing Honda would be serious contenders for the title!

Unfortunately, we can not say the same for your organization. Even when your social media team might believe that they are doing a pretty nice job, your choice and mandate for OpSec Security to harass social media users that interact with your content destroys anything and everything that might be achieved by the efforts of your team.

As professional content creator and social media user, I am not only cautious about protecting to intellectual property of the content I create with my team, but I am also very strict in safeguarding the intellection property of others, including of course your organization. So, when shared an amazing piece of content about the excellent performance of Sergio “Checo” Perez, I of course did that by embedding the video with full credits and link to the content owner.

OpSec Security, globally known for its lack of quality controls on its automated services, reported this post to Twitter as a copyright infringement on your behalf. The consequences of this false claim made on your behalf and with your mandate are as follows:

  1. My Twitter account was suspended based on a false copyright infringement claim.
  2. The post was suspended based on a false copyright infringement claim.
  3. Twitter imposed a “shadow ban” based on a false copyright infringement claim.
  4. Incredible amount of my time to get the false copyright infringement claim undone in a totally flawed customer support system offered by your service provider and your organization.

When your service provider finally retracted its false copyright infringement claim, which it made on your behalf and with your mandate, it declared:

In case you are not able to identify the marked flaws in this statement made by your service provider on your behalf:

  1. The post was “automatically” flagged as copyright infringement without any form of quality check prior to making this claim to Twitter with all consequences and damages. Please allow me to remind you that these actions were undertaken by your service provider on your behalf and with your mandate.
  2. Your service provider recommends making posts as embedded video, which is the case with the post they falsely claimed as copyright infringement on your behalf. This once again confirms that your service provider lacks even the most basic form of quality controls prior to making false copyright infringement claims on your behalf, and thus not only harming your reputation but also actively harassing fans on social media. Please allow me to remind you that these actions were undertaken by your service provider on your behalf and with your mandate.
  3. Your service provider even continues to make false and unsubstantiated claims of copyright infringements by falsely and maliciously claiming that an own copy of a video has been directly uploaded. Not only is this evidently not true and once again a false and malicious claim by your service provider made on your behalf, it also confirms that your service provider even lacks quality controls in its flawed false copyright infringement claim retraction process…

I believe that this is what Günther Steiner would describe as “Piss Poor Performance”. If your poorly performing service provider OpSec Security would only damage your reputation and destroy the positive engagement with the social media community, I might shake my head and might even giggle about the utter lack of professionalism. Unfortunately, your service provider caused me damages on your behalf, and that is something I will not accept without appropriate compensation.

Please do not hesitate to inform me how you plan to compensate the damages cause by OpSec Security on your behalf and with your mandate.
