I like the airplane analogy because with the airplane you want a safe landing. Not just the first one, not the 50th one, the thousandth one you still want the same safe landing, and you want the pilot to do the checklist the hundred thousandth time with the same level of attention that he did it the first time. And this is what you want to build into your IT infrastructure, into your security, into your data, into all your tools. That that design for security, that security by design is there every time. It doesn’t matter where you use it or how you use it. The safe landing, that is what we want to achieve.

Hans-Wilhelm Dünn, President of the Cyber Security Council Germany
In combination with a good awareness philosophy, yes, with a new spirit for the employees. I think 80 percent of our problems are house made, yes. I think we have to speak with the people in the cafeteria, and you have to cook a hacker soup, yes. And you have to say “hey you have a problem if you have not the right password”.

Dr. ir Johannes Drooghaag
And that brings us back to my original statement, the team player, because this is part of our challenge. That we have acted like the goalkeeper in the football team. We even wear a different shirt, right. It’s us and we need to get back into the team, speak the same language, that people come to us and want to know an answer to the question. And don’t come to us with fear of hearing no, the no in innovation. That’s a big big role for us, for the IT and the security providers.
